Who we are

My name is Benjamin Abernathy, and I founded Copper Mesa Goods in 2022 after I started doing leatherwork during the COVID lockdowns. After spending 7 years in the Army, I found it hard to sit still and focus. Doing leatherwork is not only my business but also helps my mental health.

I was raised in El Paso, TX, and currently live in Albuquerque, NM, with my wife and son. All of my leatherwork is designed and hand-stitched by me. My goal is to create well-made pieces with a classic Southwest feel that will stand the test of time. Thank you for shopping with a veteran-owned small business.
